William Lockie Mens Camelhair
Our Camelhair comes from a unique camel – the two humped Bactrian which is bred especially, and roams the Gobi Desert.
Camelhair is 100% natural. Their coat consists of two parts - the coarse and strong outerhair, called the guard hair, and the fine, soft underhair, which is used in knitwear.
From late Spring to early Summer, the camelhair detaches from the animal and is traditionally collected by hand. Normally, the down hair used in textiles is between 17 and 21 microns, this reduces pilling and makes the garment long lasting.
Camelhair is a natural, undyed, breathable fibre and causes no allergies as no chemicals are used in the processing of the fibre. Its also very soft and very warm.
